UFC Heavyweight Title Picture

What will happen if Stipe Miocic wins?
I can see him calling out Derrick Lewis- it would be a new opponent for him after turning aside Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski, Fabricio Werdum, Alistair Overeem, Junior Dos Santos and Francis Ngannou in addition to winning two-of-three opposite Daniel Cormier as part of an 8-1 run with four title defenses. His matchup against Francis Ngannou on Saturday will be his eighth straight UFC title fight.

And there's no denying that Lewis has earned another title shot after stopping Aleksei Oleinik and knocking out Curtis Blaydes in his last two bouts.

What if Ngannou wins the title?
This, I think, would be a situation where Lewis becomes the #2 contender behind Jon Jones. Jon would be a new opponent as well as a springboard into a potential boxing foray- think McGregor boxing Mayweather after winning the lightweight strap.

Edwards v. Muhammad- Winners and Losers
Winners
Jinh Yu Frey: Avoided an 0-3 Octagon start that could equal a release from the roster with a unanimous decision win

Matthew Semelsberger: You likely won't see him open a UFC card anytime soon as he landed a one-punch knockout in just sixteen seconds to start the night

Losers
Gavin Tucker: An opportunity to climb the ranks with his fourth straight win evaporated in just twenty-two seconds

Manel Kape: Two UFC fights = two times coming up empty on the scorecards

Leon Edwards: A ninth straight win would've landed him in title shot contention, but his first bout since July 2019 ended in a no-contest

Who should Dominick Cruz fight next?
Eddie Wineland. For me, no contest.
Come on? Two former World Extreme Cagefighting champs in the cage together?
That's the Cerrone-Sanchez fight a couple weight classes south.
Get that fight booked. Who's in?

What's next for Askar Askarov?
At this point I'd slot him in as the #2 contender at flyweight behind Brandon Moreno- he's 3-0-1 in the UFC, 13-0-1 overall and his last three wins were against Tim Elliott, Alexandre Pantoja and Joseph Benavidez (who, by the way, is tied with former long-standing champ Demetrious Johnson for most flyweight wins in UFC history). Put it on record and say "after Moreno, then Askarov).

So where does this leave Cody Garbrandt?
Something I think would be super cool to do is book him against either Pantoja or Benavidez.

What title eliminator should Dillashaw get?
Cory Sandhagen. Why not? Cory's last two fights saw him stop Marlon Moraes by spinning wheel kick and follow-up punches and then absolutely obliterate Frankie Edgar by flying knee knockout. A win for either would deliver great promotional material ahead of a title fight.
As a long shot I'd suggest Cody Garbrandt- the rivalry is there, the PR material would be fantastic, and it would be a fight I think Cody would go for if the UFC goes with Moreno and then Askarov as the next two title defenses for Figueiredo at 125.

What's the deal with the UFC women's featherweight division?
I don't know- it's becoming more and more likely that they'll probably shutter that division as they don't seem all that interested in building it up but then they book a 1-0 UFC newcomer against June-of-last-year title challenger. So I guess wait and see until after May 22? Another thing to look at is what does Nunes want to do?

What's next for Aljamain Sterling?
An immediate rematch against Petr Yan is the only way to go- winning a world title fight by DQ is the worst way to win.

What's next for Jan Blachowicz?
Glover Teixeira is the rightful next challenger. He's won five straight against Karl Roberson, Anthony Smith, Nikita Krylov, Ion Cutelaba and Karl Roberson.
Potentially the #2 contender in the division is Aleksandar Rakic, who's won two straight- it might not sound all that impressive but both of those wins came against the two 205 title challengers in 2019: Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos.
