A Batch of Wednesday Updates

Tokyo Men's Water Polo Qualifying- World Qualifier Tournament
Group A- The quarterfinal spots are completely allotted and the final matchday tomorrow will determine quarterfinal seeding. Canada, Georgia, Greece and Montenegro are still alive for quarterfinal spots
Group B- One quarterfinal spot is up for grabs between France and Romania with Germany eliminated. Croatia, Netherlands, and Russia are one step closer to Tokyo while France-Romania tomorrow will determine the final spot in the knockout round

France v. Romania: Head-to-Head for the final QF spot
*Both teams have won one, lost two and added a draw
*France has the slight advantage in goal differential by three, which means that Romania will most likely need a win- and by at least three goals- to progress.

Russia v. Netherlands

Croatia v. Germany

*3-0-1 Russia and 3-1 Croatia battling for top spot in the group and a QF against the fourth-place team from Group A
*Russia defeated Croatia in their head-to-head encounter (battling for first place)
*3-1 Croatia defeated 2-1-1 Netherlands in their head-to-head encounter (battle for second place)

*A win for Croatia will keep them in the top two at 4-1
*A win for Croatia and a Russia loss will see Croatia win the group
*Netherlands can go second over Croatia if they beat Russia and if already-eliminated Germany defeats Croatia. A Netherlands win and Croatia tie keeps Croatia in second based on head-to-head win (both teams would then be 3-1-1)
