UFC Matchmaking Part Two
Men's Bantamweight
Song Yadong should put his 8-0-1 streak on the line opposite Jimmie Rivera. Rivera is ranked eighth but has lost two straight against Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan.

Welterweight
I'd like to see Geoff Neal put his 5-0 UFC record and seven-fight winning streak on the line opposite Michael Chiesa. Neal's last three wins have come against Belal Muhammad, Niko Price and Mike Perry while he's defeated Bilal Williams, Chase Waldon, Brian Camozzi, Frank Camacho, Muhammad, Price and Perry during his seven-fight run. Chiesa, on the other hand, has won three straight against Carlos Condit, Diego Sanchez and Rafael dos Anjos.

Strawweight
Claudia Gadelha v. Marina Rodriguez
Gadelha, a 22-fight veteran, has won two in a row opposite Randa Markos and Angela Hill. Rodriguez is 12-0-2. The winner of this bout could next match up against Carla Esparza, another 22-fight veteran who's won three in a row against Virna Jandiroba, Alexa Grasso and Michelle Waterson.

Women's Flyweight
8-1 Sabina Mazo has won two straight against Shana Dobson and JJ Aldrich.
Who should she fight next?
I'd like to see her match up against Molly McCann next. It's not a big leap in the rankings but keep in mind Mazo has just nine pro fights under her belt.

Potential MMA Trades/Moves
Potential Trade: UFC and Bellator- Robert Whitaker to Bellator, Patricio Freire OR Pedro Carvalho to the UFC
Potential Trade (my second idea): UFC and Bellator- Max Holloway and Jessica Eye to Bellator, AJ McKee and Julia Budd to the UFC
What would Bellator get? Fresh blood at men's featherweight/lightweight and women's flyweight
What would the UFC get? More of a challenge at 145 for Nunes AND a 16-0 men's featherweight looking for deeper waters
Potential Trade (my top idea): UFC and Bellator- Max Holloway to Bellator and Julia Budd to the UFC
What would Bellator get? For a promotion that does multiple shows in Hawaii, a crowd-bringer in native Hawaiian Holloway
What would UFC get? Budd, the former Bellator featherweight champion, would provide more of a challenge at 145 for current champ Amanda Nunes
Women's Featherweight: 5-1 Leah Letson OR 4-1 Norma Dumont from UFC to Bellator

Women's Flyweight: Cortney Casey def. Mara Romero Borella by first-round submission
Heavyweight: Rodrigo Nascimento def. Don'Tale Mayes by second-round submission (Nascimento moves to 8-0)

Potential UFC Matchmaking

Men's Bantamweight: Song Yadong v. Jimmie Rivera
Sixteenth-ranked Yadong moved to 8-0-1 in his last nine bouts and snapped Marlon Vera's five-fight win streak in the process. Rivera is currently ranked eleventh but has lost two straight against Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan

Men's Featherweight: Jeremy Stephens v. Darren Elkins
Stephens has gone 0-4 with 1 no-contest in his last five outings while Elkins has lost four straight

Men's Flyweight: Jussier Formiga v. Alexandre Pantoja
If we assume the Figueredo/Benavidez fight will be rebooked for the vacant flyweight title, then tag third-ranked Brandon Moreno as the top contender- this means that a bout between fourth-ranked Formiga and fifth-ranked Pantoja would be for the #2 contender slot

Men's Featherweight: Bryce Mitchell v. Chase Hooper
Mitchell is 13-0 while Hooper is 9-0-1

Strawweight: Michelle Waterson v. Hannah Cifers
17-8 Waterson has lost two straight opposite Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Carla Esparza, while Cifers' loss to Angela Hill in January snapped a two-fight win streak over Polyana Viana and Jodie Esquibel

Lightweight: Donald Cerrone v. Clay Guida
52-fight veteran Cerrone has lost four straight, while 54-fight veteran Guida suffered a 58-second technical submission loss in his last outing back in August

Strawweight: Claudia Gadelha v. Marina Rodriguez
Gadelha has won two straight over Randa Markos and Angela Hill, while Rodriguez is 12-0-2.
The winner could face Carla Esparza, winner of three straight over Virna Jandiroba, Alexa Grasso and Michelle Waterson

RB Leipzig remain four points adrift of top spot after drawing 1-1 with Freiburg
Hertha Berlin def. Hoffenheim on the road 3-0
Borussia Monchengladbach def. Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 on the road

Potential UFC Matchmaking
Men's Flyweight: Deiveson Figueredo v. Joseph Benavidez 2 for the vacant flyweight title sometime in the summer, with Brandon Moreno as the top contender. Since re-entering the UFC, Moreno has tallied a split draw opposite Askar Askarov and two straight unanimous decision wins over Kai Kara-France and Jussier Formiga.
I also like the idea of fourth-ranked Formiga v. fifth-ranked Alexandre Pantoja for the #2 contender slot.

Men's Featherweight: I still like the idea of Bryce Mitchell v. Chase Hooper. What's not to like about 13-0 v. 9-0-1?

Strawweight: Gadelha/Hill winner v. Marina Rodriguez, with the winner of that bout facing Carla Esparza. Marina Rodriguez is 12-0-2 and would be a challenging test as a result. After her win Saturday, Esparza is on a three-fight win streak over Virna Jandiroba, Alexa Grasso and Michelle Waterson

Heavyweight: If Rodrigo Nascimento defeats Don'Tale Mayes, match him up against Cyril Gane. That'll be 8-0 opposite 6-0

Potential UFC Matchmaking
After UFC 249 and UFC Fight Night 171

Men's Flyweight: Brandon Moreno fighting for the title v. Figueredo/Benavidez winner

Option 1: Conor McGregor v. Charles Oliveira
McGregor is technically fourth in the UFC lightweight rankings and Oliveira is eighth
Oliveira is on a seven-fight winning streak with all seven coming by way of stoppage: five submissions, one TKO and one knockout

Option 2: Conor McGregor v. Tony Ferguson
Third-ranked lightweight Ferguson v. fourth-ranked lightweight McGregor

Option 3: Conor McGregor v. Nate Diaz 3
McGregor has an opportunity to move to 2-1 v. Diaz AND 3-1 in the UFC welterweight class

Lightweight: Thiago Moises v. David Teymur OR Davi Ramos
Moises submitted Michael Johnson- thirtieth in the standings- yesterday
Teymur is twenty-fourth in the standings and 5-1 in the UFC but coming off a submission loss to Charles Oliveira
Ramos is twenty-fifth in the standings but coming off a decision loss to Islam Makhachev

Men's Bantamweight: Brian Kelleher v. Sean O'Malley
Kelleher has won two straight- submission win over Ode Osbourne in January and knockout win over Hunter Azure yesterday; O'Malley is 11-0 overall and 3-0 in the UFC

Light Heavyweight: Ryan Spann v. Johnny Walker
Spann has won eight in a row after UFC 249; Walker is currently twelfth in the rankings but has dropped two in a row to Corey Anderson and Nikita Krylov

Men's Bantamweight: recent signee Manel Kape v. Raoni Barcelos OR Marlon Vera OR Sean O'Malley
Barcelos: ranked eighteenth in the standings, 4-0 in UFC
Vera: ranked nineteenth in the standings, 21-fight veteran
O'Malley: twentieth in the standings, 11-0 overall

Light Heavyweight: Anthony Smith v. Dominick Reyes
Two of the more previous challengers for Jon Jones' UFC belt and both coming off a loss- for Reyes, a decision many felt he won, and for Smith, a stoppage in round five

Men's Featherweight: Calvin Kattar v. Yair Rodriguez
It makes sense ranking-wise...
… And Calvin Kattar can move a step closer to a title shot with consecutive wins over Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez

Light Heavyweight: Glover Teixeira v. Jan Blachowicz
Teixeira has won four straight over Karl Roberson, Ion Cutelaba, Nikita Krylov and Anthony Smith; Blachowicz has won three straight over Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo Souza and Corey Anderson

Rodriguez is 12-0-2, while 25-fight veteran Waterson has lost two straight

Men's Featherweight: Bryce Mitchell v. Jeremy Stephens
Mitchell is 13-0, while 49-fight veteran Stephens is 0-4 with a no-contest in his last five bouts
*Alternative: Bryce Mitchell v. Chase Hooper
Mitchell is 13-0 while Hooper is 9-0-1

Lightweight: Donald Cerrone v. Clay Guida
Cerrone, with 35 wins, has lost four straight; Guida, with 36 wins, suffered a technical submission guillotine choke loss in under a minute back in August

UFC 249 Questions
How likely is it that we'll see Calvin Kattar v. Yair Rodriguez later this year?

Which do you see happening- Ferguson v. McGregor or McGregor v. Diaz 3?

Is Henry Cejudo actually retired? If so, who should fight for the then-vacant belt?

UFC 249 Results
Lightweight Main Event: Justin Gaethje defeated Tony Ferguson by fifth-round TKO, breaking a whopping twelve-fight win streak dating back to October 2013. Gaethje- now the interim champion- looks toward a title unification bout opposite Khabib Nurmagomedov later this year
Men's Bantamweight Co-Main: Henry Cejudo defended his bantamweight title by second-round stoppage of Dominick Cruz- thereby defending belts in two different weight classes after defending the flyweight belt in January of last year. This also means that his last four fights have been wins over Demetrious Johnson (eleven straight flyweight title defenses), TJ Dillashaw (former UFC bantamweight champion), Marlon Moraes (a top bantamweight contender heading into UFC 238) and Cruz, regarded as one of the best UFC bantamweights ever. Cruz, who was competing for the first time since December 2016, has now lost two straight
Heavyweight: Francis Ngannou cemented a future title shot as he needed just twenty seconds to knockout Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who entered the night 10-0 with previous consecutive wins over Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem. Ngannou, on the other hand, is now on a four-fight first-round-KO/TKO streak totaling 2 minutes 42 seconds
Catchweight: Originally billed as a featherweight bout, Calvin Kattar tallied a second-round stoppage win over Jeremy Stephens. Kattar rebounds from a November decision loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov, while Stephens drops to 0-4 with a no-contest in his last four bouts
Welterweight: Anthony Pettis defeated Donald Cerrone by decision, breaking a two-fight skid consisting of a submission loss to Carlos Diego Ferreira in January and a decision loss to Nate Diaz back in November. Pettis has won two of his last three at welterweight despite an 0-2 streak at lightweight. Cerrone, on the other hand, has now lost four straight (Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor and Pettis)
Heavyweight: Aleksey Oliynyk tallied win number fifty-nine in his career by unanimous decision over Fabricio Werdum. This is Oliynyk's second straight win, adding to an armbar submission of Maurice Greene back in January. Werdum, competing for the first time since March 2018, has now lost two straight
Strawweight: Carla Esparza tallied her third-straight win by split decision over Michelle Waterson, adding to wins over Alexa Grasso and Virna Jandiroba. Waterson has now lost two straight
Welterweight: Vicente Luque tallied a third-round doctor-stoppage win over Niko Price. He is 1-0 in 2020 after a 3-1 2019
Men's Featherweight: Bryce Mitchell improved to 13-0 with a dominant unanimous decision over Charles Rosa
Light Heavyweight: Ryan Spann claimed his eighth win in a row by split decision over Sam Alvey
