*He defeated Anderson Silva by decision in February. Silva had previously held the middleweight belt for 2,457 days 

*Nine weekends later, he defeated Kelvin Gastelum in a Fight of the Year candidate in April for the interim middleweight belt. Keep in mind most training camps are twelve weeks long 

*He then stopped Robert Whittaker in October to become undisputed middleweight champion
